Description:

Duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to ensuring timely and accurate reporting to internal and external entities including, but not limited to, the National Student Clearinghouse and the National Student Loan Data System. This position will provide reports and information as necessary to both academic and non-academic departments in conjunction with the Department of Institutional Research and Assessment and the University’s Computer Center. The Associate Director for Compliance and Reporting is also responsible for overseeing the unit’s testing during system upgrades and assisting with management and review of staff security privileges. In addition, this position will work with the other members of the Office of Academic Records and Registrar to help seek out or create, test, and implement process improvements or new technologies which will better the student experience through efficiency or ease of use. Participation in university events and testing during system upgrades outside of regular work hours are also required. Candidates must be organized and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference and the NCAA.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, with at least two years relevant experience in an Academic Records, Registrar, Enrollment Management department or a report writing position. Experience with Ellucian’s Banner Student information system or another integrated database is strongly preferred. Strong computer skills are required including report writing experience with Crystal Reports or Microsoft Access, and proficiency with the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with additional reporting tools or coding languages is preferred, but not required. The candidate must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized. The candidate must have excellent management and interpersonal skills, be able to problem solve effectively, and be able to assess and improve on current office practices.
