This full-time position will be available Fall, 2019. The primary office for this position will be at the HCC Regional Center in Wamego, Kansas. Requirements: Master's degree w/minimum 18 graduate hours in Chemistry or closely related discipline required. Community college teaching experience preferred. Experience teaching telepresence, hybrid, or online desired.  

The Chemistry Instructor will teach all assigned courses and associated activities as related to chemistry and the physical sciences.  Courses include but are not limited to: General Chemistry, College Chemistry I, College Chemistry II, College Physical Science. The instructor will prepare all instructional materials for lecture and lab activities (no lab assistants), maintain accurate student records, serve actively on college committees as assigned, and assist regional directors in recruiting, assigning and supporting adjunct instructors in the physical sciences discipline. Related responsibilities include recruiting interested students, keeping current in the discipline, recommending pertinent library materials for acquisition to the HCC Library, participating in faculty meetings, cooperating and assisting Student Services regarding student needs, and attending commencement ceremonies.

The instructor will conduct class on-ground or using a hybrid format, e.g. combined on-ground/telepresence or on-ground/online during days, evenings or weekends as assigned. Students may be attending courses via instructional technology at any of Highland's four regional instruction sites. Instructor may be asked to hold office hours at several locations in order to meet the needs of regional students.
