Associate Professor - Academic Clinician Track - CL and Hospital Psychiatric Services

The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. The successful applicant will be accomplished in the area of psychiatry. Expertise in the specific area of psychosomatic medicine and adult psychiatry is required. Applicants must have an M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Board certification in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine and PA medical license are required. The applicant should have completed a 1-year fellowship in psychosomatic medicine.

This position is for a full-time consultation liaison psychiatrist with strong interest in academic medicine. This position involves administratively managing the consult service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Presbyterian and Pennsylvania Hospitals and providing psychiatric consultations to patients on medical and surgical units and in the emergency service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). The candidate is expected to be a dynamic educator for Penn medical students, residents and fellows. Attending faculty responsibility includes evaluating and managing patients that have psychiatric complications from medical illness and addictions, co-morbid psychiatric disorders with medical illness, and medical complications of different psychiatric disorders.
