Engineering IT is the primary information technology services provider for Engineering at Illinois, serving the IT needs of more than 1,100 faculty and staff and over 10,000 students. The Associate Audio Visual Technology Specialist will provide end-user Audio Visual and Digital Signage support for departments and users within the College of Engineering. This position is responsible for maintaining and supporting Audio Visual (A/V) technology such as projectors, cameras, microphones, etc. within instructional, conference, and collaboration spaces, as well as digital signage across the College of Engineering.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer Service and Support
- Promotes excellent customer service by responding to requests in person, on the phone, or via email in a timely, polite, and professional manner.
- Works to build relationships with user community by proactively communicating relevant information and discussing the user's needs, initiatives, and service levels through periodic meetings.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, plus one (1) year of professional experience in an IT or A/V operations environment that included providing A/V technology support (projectors, microphones, cameras, and/or digital signage and customer service.
Ideal candidates will exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, have knowledge of current technology for production and display of multimedia content (e.g. cameras, mixers, projectors, and digital displays) and have the ability to troubleshoot common desktop and mobile computing applications and hardware.

This is a full-time Civil Service IT Support Associate position appointed on a 12-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after December 18, 2018. Salary is commensurate with experience.
