Job Summary:

The University of Colorado Department of Pediatrics, is seeking an independent investigator and Professor to work in the field of Developmental Biology.



Examples of Work Performed:

  • Establish an independent program of extramurally funding contributing to no less than 60% of total compensation by the end of year three (3) of the appointment
  • Contribute scholarly work in the form of original publications, manuscripts and presentations
  • Support the career development of pre- and post-doctoral graduate students, clinical residents and fellows in the understanding and application of developmental biology and organism development
  • Participate in and support the development of multi-disciplinary collaborations and translational research program development


Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • PhD or MD/PhD in Developmental Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, or related field
  • Must currently be at the rank of Professor and possess the experience to hired at the rank of Professor in accordance with School of Medicine and Department of Pediatrics policies
  • Previously held an Associate Faculty appointment in Biochemistry
  • Completed a 4-year postdoctoral fellowship in Biomedical Research

Condition of Employment:
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
  • Must be able to successfully meet the requirements for a faculty appointment at the rank of Professor

  • Strong commitment to graduate and medical education
  • Ability to design and execute quality and cutting edge research
  • Ability to foster faculty career development through mentoring/co-mentoring
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary group to expand methodologically sophisticated research

  • Established track record of creative and cutting-edge research
  • Demonstrable publication accomplishments
  • Successful record of trainee mentorship
