Job Description

Part-time adjunct instructors needed for teaching CHEMISTRY courses for FALL 2018. Courses include General Chemistry I & II, their laboratory courses, or Organic Chemistry Laboratory I & II.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • An earned Master's degree in Chemistry from a regionally accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 18 graduate hours in Chemistry.
  • Experience and interest in teaching undergraduates in a culturally diverse, first generation college/university population.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working towards or has earned Ph.D. in Chemistry, from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Broad training in chemistry.
  • Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching.
  • Experience teaching a range of undergraduate courses in chemistry.
  • Experience with a non-traditional commuter-university setting.
  • Experience with a culturally diverse student body.


Course times are as follows: General Chemistry I, MWF 8 - 8:50 a.m.; General Chemistry I Laboratory, M or W 11 a.m. - 1:50 p.m., or T 8 a.m. - 10:50 a.m.; General Chemistry II, MWF 8 - 8:50 a.m.; General Chemistry II Laboratory, R 8 - 10:50 a.m., or R 11 a.m. - 1:50 p.m.; Organic Chemistry I Laboratory, T 8 - 10:50 a.m., or R 2 - 4:50 p.m.; Organic Chemistry II Laboratory, T 2-4:50 p.m. or R 8-10:50 a.m.
