The Dean of Students Office fosters the development of leadership, civility, accountability, and responsibility in the University of North Texas student; builds community through service and involvement; and serves as an advocate for all students. This office is dedicated to supporting the UNT student who may need assistance in resolving complex personal and academic matters. We strive to help all students achieve their academic and personal goals and enhance the UNT student experience.

Job Description
The Dean of Students Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Student Services Coordinator to join our team.

This position coordinates the university's process for addressing the needs of students who have challenges with health, personal and social issues through providing myriad interventions, referrals and follow-up services. Primary responsibility is to assist with the University CARE Team process in the DOS and by meeting with students referred to the CARE Team to ensure their success at UNT, also assists with Seeking Options and Solutions (SOS) Program and student-initiated withdrawal process. Responsibility of tracking, maintaining, and assessment of CARE Team records. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Meets with students during the University CARE Team process.
* As needed will assist in mandatory withdrawal process and SOS program as a representative of the Dean of Students office.
* Staff member will serve on the CARE Team on-call rotation, maintain CARE spreadsheet and data assessment.
* Establishes and maintains reporting, tracking and monitoring mechanisms on students who manifest behaviors which signal they need on or off campus resources in order to succeed in college and follow up as appropriate.
* Works with faculty and staff regarding individual students and behaviors which affect the classroom environment; reconnect with students referred to CARE Team after initial process is over to assist with retention, connect them to appropriate resources and follow up.
* Participates in new student/parent, faculty and staff orientation sessions to educate constituents functions and on and off campus resources.
* Builds relationships within UNT and community resources to assist students regarding community outreach and assistance.
* Develops systems for reporting and maintenance of student cases, and maintains accurate case records and prepares statistical reports as requested.
* Develops outreach and publicity to UNT faculty and staff promoting interventions to and for the CARE Team process and Dean of Students office for intervention with student issues.
* Staff member will help in planning and developing new initiatives.
* Staff member will assist in retaining students by meeting
with students one-on-one to discuss enrollment options and assisting with the University mandatory withdrawal during peak periods throughout the semester.
* Be able to multi-task and manage a large and diverse case load, establish systems for receiving and tracking cases, and be able to work well with a diverse range of constituents (staff, faculty, students, parents, and off campus providers).
* Other duties to be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

* Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
* Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
* Experience in networking across departments and programs.
* Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.
* Some experience in customer service is preferred.
