The UT Austin seeks an accomplished academic pharmacist leader to be the Head of the College's Pharmacy Practice Division. Academic rank, tenure status, and compensation will be dependent upon candidate qualifications and experience.
We seek an accomplished individual who wishes to lead and mentor a dynamic group of Pharmacy Practice faculty, teach in and support innovation in our Doctor of Pharmacy Program, advance interprofessional education and scholarship through the UT Center for Health Interprofessional Practice and Education, and nurture active collaborations with healthcare organizations in Austin and central Texas. The Division Head will collaborate with the Associate Dean for Healthcare Partnerships and the Assistant Dean for Experiential Education to advance Pharm.D. experiential education, post PharmD residency programs, and pursue new programs for the division
The successful candidate will have significant academic leadership experience, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated success in teaching, scholarship, and service. In addition, the successful candidate may have a pharmacy practice and scholarly focus in any area. An earned Doctor of Pharmacy degree is required, and board certification in the relevant specialty is strongly preferred. The Division Head is expected to work collaboratively with faculty across divisions, including faculty in Pharmacotherapy, Health Outcomes, and the basic pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences to advance the College's curriculum, teaching mission, scholarship, and service. Current licensure as a pharmacist in Texas is required, or licensure must be obtained within 90 days of beginning the appointment.
