The Department of History at Princeton University has an occasional need for lecturers to teach precepts (sections) in areas such as the history of North and South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, and history of science. This position requires leading precept discussions, attending course lectures, being available for meetings with the course instructor(s), holding regular office hours, and grading student exams and papers. Appointments are subject to enrollments and may be for one semester, or the academic year, beginning September 1, 2018. An advanced degree is required; PhDs or doctoral candidates preferred. Depending on the department's needs, a lecturer may be asked to teach or co-teach an undergraduate seminar; any lecturer asked to teach or co-teach an undergraduate seminar must have completed all requirements for the PhD degree prior to the start of the relevant teaching semester.
