Description of primary duties and responsibilities::

Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The mission of the Fayetteville State University Office of Career Services is to guide students and alumni in achieving career satisfaction. We endeavor to meet our mission by assisting our students and alumni to make optimal use of their knowledge, skills and abilities.

Description of Work Continued::

Primary Purpose of the Position:

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Career Services, the University Program Associate is part of a dynamic team dedicated to creating innovative programs and provide the seamless development of our students’ academic and career aspirations. Serve as a central point of contact and communication for faculty, students, administrators, and outside parties to promote the experiential education and to ensure that critical deadlines and program requirements are met.

The University Program Associate must possess the ability to effectively work, communicate, collaborate, and influence a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, community members, and external constituencies, and multiple departments. Ability to communicate effectively within and across University divisions; demonstrating commitment to collaborative teamwork across Academic Affairs, Administrative Services, Student Affairs divisions, and University Advancement; and possesses a demonstrated commitment to the engagement and development of a diverse collegiate environment.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements::

Bachelor’s degree and one year experience in customer service, public relations, or other equivalent.
Superior interpersonal communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft office programs and tools,
Ability to work with an online customer relations management database.
Sales and customer relations management experience.

Knowledge skills and abilities::

This position provides customer service to employers interested in hiring FSU students and alumni for full-time employment and internships. Manage employer contacts and activities through the Career Services employer database and online recruitment tools. Identify, recruit and enroll new employers to hire FSU students and alumni for full-time, part-time, and internship employment. Lead special projects as requested and assist with other Career Services tasks as needed.
