Under general supervision of the Administrative Director of Medical Education and in conjunction with the Clerkship Director, the Clerkship Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Internal Medicine Clerkship. The Clerkship Coordinator ensures proper organization and monitoring of student clerkship activities, office management, as well as ensuring compliance with LCME regulation. The Clerkship Coordinator provides oversight of medical students throughout their training experience, including but not limited to managing the students’ schedules; acting as a liaison between residents, providers and the medical students; evaluating the students’ performance based on input from these parties; and addressing any behavioral issues that may arise. The Clerkship Coordinator provides direct support including calendar management to Clerkship Director and assists all Associate Clerkship Directors at BMC and off site locations. The Clerkship Coordinator prepares administers and proctors the medical student National Board Medical Examiners (NBME) exam; handles personal and confidential information in a professional and appropriate manner. The Clerkship Coordinator participates in discussions concerning the curriculum and learning objectives; manage logistical and operational aspects of all class sessions; prepare and manage course syllabus, supporting materials, and evaluations; maintain Blackboard-Learn website; assist with, schedule, and proctor exams; oversee exam review sessions; and provide communication to students. Additionally the Clerkship Coordinator is expect to participate as an active member of the Alliance of Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM), Clerkship Committee (BUSM), and Clinical Curriculum Subcommittee (BUSM).


Bachelor's degree required. 3-5 years' experience with a background in healthcare or higher education preferred. Applicant should have a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and expect to master web-based resources such as Wordpress, Blackboard Learn, e-Value, etc. Exceptional customer service skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills are a MUST.
