The Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University is seeking a well-qualified Lab Assistant III to support the department labs. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for making media and buffers on a daily basis and monitoring inventory supplies based on lab needs. The Lab Assistant will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance requests for the equipment in the lab, contacting vendors for purchasing replacement items, and purchasing chemicals as needed. H/she will supervise glassware facilities and ensure equipment is sanitized per University policies. The selected candidate will also supervise glassware staff, coordinate washing schedules and manage glassware tools and inventory supplies, and assist with capital equipment purchases, and renovation projects. H/she will assist the Lab Manager with daily tasks and act as a backup for the Lab Manager.
Qualifications:
2 years of experience and must be able to plan and organize a variety of duties within general guidelines; they must be thoroughly familiar with various needs of the laboratory and must be able to establish good working relationships with a variety of professional, technical, and support staff and/or students.
