Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Learning Support (SLS), the Assistant Director will work closely with the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) staff and other campus partners to provide student learning support content and resources across campus. This position includes primary supervision and professional development of the TLC student employees. The Assistant Director SLS will also deliver learning assistance to students through personalized programs of academic self-improvement and group workshops and will support and enhance TLC programs already in place. This is a full-time, 10-month position, August 1 through May 31 which may be flexible to cover some summer weeks with options to take those weeks elsewhere in the year.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
• Work with the TLC staff and campus partners to plan, implement, maintain and enhance SLS programming, including support of the TLC Peer Tutoring and TLC Study Groups programs and student employees
• Initiate, organize, and deliver student development workshops and resources
• Meet individually with students for individual consultations, including follow-ups with students referred to the Tutoring Program to monitor their progress.
• Supervise and manage the professional development of the TLC student employees
• Assist in assessing existing programs. Recommend changes or additions.
• Support and promote the University's sustainability efforts
• Support and contribute to the University's commitment to diversity and inclusion

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Education, Psychology, or related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with tutoring, mentoring, or advising students OR 3 years of experience with teaching and/or student learning support services.
• Previous supervisory experience
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and experience working with or serving a diverse student body.
• Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with individuals and groups at all levels of an organization.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with others in a small and highly collaborative team and multi-task under busy conditions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information on a routine basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in higher education and/or teaching at the college level.
• Understanding of Universal Design for Learning.
• Experience with STEM faculty or students.
