DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:	
Overview:
The Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District (Shasta College) sits at the northern end of the Sacramento Valley, surrounded by mountains to the north, east, and west. The area provides a wide array of outdoor amenities and activities with miles of hiking and biking trails, national parks, two lakes, and the Sacramento River.

DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Campus Safety Office II assists the Director with planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and participating in the day-to-day activities and operations of the District's security and parking operations at all District locations and events. Employees in this classification receive limited supervision within a broad framework of policies and procedures. Employees in this classification train, assign, and schedule the work of others. This job class is responsible for assisting with the management of the District's security and parking programs. This job class requires specialized knowledge of effective community college campus security and parking procedures. This is a non-sworn classification.
CLASSIFICATION: Range 45 on the current Classified Salary Schedule, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year. Work assignment hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
SUPERVISOR: Director of Campus Safety or Designee

Two years of security or police experience; OR,– four years of experience as a parole or probation officer; OR four years of U.S. military police experience.

New Classified Appointments will be placed at Step 2 on the Classified Salary Schedule and will graduate to the next step on July 1st if the hire date is before April 1, with subsequent steps annually thereafter to a maximum sixth step.
Longevity pay in accordance with Section 8.8 of the Classified Employee Collective Bargaining Agreement.
