Digital Forensics/Cyber Security Tenure Track Position


The Department of Mathematical and Digital Sciences at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor depending on experience and qualifications to begin in the fall semester of 2019 (# 24900-18-202). In addition to the distinct major in Digital Forensics the department offers majors in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. An online certificate in digital forensics is planned for Summer 2019. A Master’s degree in a related field is required for appointment. An earned doctorate, or progress toward a doctorate, in a related field from an accredited institution is preferred. An earned doctorate will be required for tenure. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate courses, scholarship and an ability to work with diverse populations is required; experience is preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with strong backgrounds in digital forensics and cyber security and interest in teaching and developing courses in those areas. The ability to teach, or interest in teaching, online courses would be an asset. Finalists for the position must communicate well and successfully complete a teaching/research demonstration and an interview process.

The Digital Forensics program has been designated a program of distinction by the University and a Center of Academic Excellence by the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security. The program began in the fall of 2007 and has grown since then in the number of students, graduates, faculty and courses. Bloomsburg University is located in a picturesque small town in beautiful north central Pennsylvania, approximately 50 miles southwest of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and 30 miles west of the Pocono Mountains.
