Java Application Developer

Under supervision of the Admissions IT management, incumbent is responsible for implementing, enhancing and maintaining the Admissions system and other Student Information systems (SIS). Conduct analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation of complex web and batch applications with widespread impact on different system components. Participate in analysis, design, development and implementation of interfaces with other systems within UCI. Work closely with users to design, implement, support and maintain online functions, screens, reports and automated workflows. Require staying current with functional requirements and changes.

Also require staying current with campus policies, business practices, and security guidelines and policies. Participate in work group sessions along with technical SMEs and other project stakeholders. Participate in and respond to functional or technical audits, and follow up and coordinate the completion of actions items.

Salary: Hourly, commensurate with experience
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
Contract Position. This is a one year contract appointment position with the possibility of additional year contract appointment extensions. Per the University of California (UC) recruitment policy, because this position has undergone competitive recruitment, this position can be converted to career status any time after hire, as conversion meets criteria set by UC recruitment policy and the needs of the Office of Information Technology department.
