Nature of Work:

The University of Colorado, College of Nursing, is seeking an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for a full-time, (1.0 FTE) benefitted, position with the University of Colorado, College of Nursing primarily at our Campus Health Center, in Aurora, CO. This position is clinic based as a mental healthcare provider, 40 hours a week. This position may also assist other clinics in our Faculty Practice Plan when the need arises.

Clinic Descriptions:

The Campus Health Center, with both physical and behavioral health care delivered by varied health disciplines through CU Health Partners, is designed to meet CU Anschutz student health and wellness needs. In addition, surrounding community members are welcome to access health services at this clinic. The practice consists of ~five employees.



Belleview Point Clinic is an integrated Advanced Practice Nursing practice consisting of ~five employees. We strive to give quality care in a nurturing relaxed environment, as opposed to a typical 5-10 minute rushed, doctor's office visit. We will provide a broad range of primary care services to patients of all ages. Patients can receive physical and behavioral health care at this clinic.

Supervision Received:

Work is performed independently under the general direction of the Clinical Director and authority of the Associate Dean for Clinical and Community Affairs as part of the College of Nursing (CON) faculty practices.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Provide case management and care coordination with providers of service including but not limited to primary care providers, school personnel, family members, and other mental health and community partners.
  • Evaluate crisis situations and take appropriate action to ensure client safety and the safety of all clinic users.
  • Develop a treatment plan with each patient to include: health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, appropriate use of psychotropic medications, self-care, provision of appropriate follow-up and referral to other needed services and therapies.
  • Provide general outpatient treatment via individual and group therapy, case management, crisis management, skill building, and psycho-education.
  • Participate in scheduled individual supervision, health team meetings, interdisciplinary work groups, monthly staff meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Complete all required clinical and administrative documentation to accepted standards of practice, accurately, legibly, and by established timelines on electronic health record (EHR) system and paper as needed.
  • Utilize best practices and provide all treatment within appropriate limits. Complete and follow through with financial and clinical information necessary to ensure reimbursement for provided services.
  • Expected to demonstrate high quality customer service focus, excellent communication and professionalism with clinic users, co-workers and representatives from outside agencies and to enhance community relationships.
  • Actively participates in marketing and patient recruitment
  • Active participation in health plan contracts.
  • Remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of staff, faculty, community members, and clients.
  • Expertise in clinical assessment and therapeutic interventions with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of primary care-behavioral health integrated programs, including fundamental elements of co-located and/or fully integrated services.
  • Actively participates in marketing and patient recruitment
  • Active participation in health plan contracts.
  • Remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current.
  • Ability to effectively utilize computer and electronic medical record.

Qualifications


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field.
  • Current LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) licensure in good standing (Any State) (Must have all CO licensure by date of hire. Could be working toward CO clinical license during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies.) No grievances filed with DORA or any other state licensing governance board, Medicaid, or Medicare.
  • Minimum One year experience as a licensed practicing therapist.
  • Experience providing substance abuse treatment services.


Preferences:

  • Experience working with population based outcomes.
  • Prior Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience.
  • Experience using brief treatment modalities with an emphasis on time effective, recovery oriented, and evidence-based treatment.
  • Experience with prevention and early intervention approaches, utilizing trauma informed care, and working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Experience with, working knowledge of, or commitment to care delivery that incorporates a social justice perspective around the intersectionality of racism, classism, LGBTQ issues, and other forms of oppression.
