Primary Function of Organization Unit: University Communications and Marketing is NC State's dedicated communications agency. Our team provides leadership, strategy, services and support to advance the NC State brand and help the university achieve its core mission. The Marketing Communications team brings together experts in all the communication disciplines: strategists, project coordinators, videographers, photographers, designers, writers and developers. We build campaigns that bridge the digital and the physical ; and show the world what "Think and Do" means.
Essential Job Duties: The Marketing Coordinator is a professional-level position that fills the gap between university goals and their achievement by providing strategic marketing planning, as well as the execution and evaluation of innovative and effective marketing and communications tactics and initiatives. Working with high-level administration clients from across campus, the Marketing Coordinator will provide marketing services for a variety of digital, print, video and social platforms, with primary project manager responsibilities including client and vendor relations, scheduling, cost tracking, and billing.
Department Required Skills: In-depth knowledge of marketing principles including expertise in developing and executing successful, strategic, integrated marketing plans; audience analysis and segmentation; messaging strategy, advertising, CMS, CRM, and other engagement strategies. Experience serving as lead project manager for a variety of creative projects including experience working with vendors. Effective interpersonal skills and a proven track record of establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Bachelor's degree in design, web technology, marketing or communications with three years experience or equivalent project management experience of eight years. Demonstrated leadership, training and mentoring abilities Proven track record of vendor management including selection and coordination of freelance talent and agencies.
