Ithaca College and the Department of Theatre Arts seek greater diversity in our faculty to broaden our academic experience.
Successful candidates will possess: an M.F.A. in an appropriate discipline or significant professional experience; a significant record of professional achievement in dance, particularly modern and jazz; demonstrated success in choreography; and the ability to teach in other areas of dance that may include musical theatre styles, tap, African/Afro-Cuban/Afro-Caribbean dance, street jazz, or hip hop.

Course load for this position will include technique courses in Modern, Jazz, and/or in additional areas of expertise, choreographing in our mainstage season, and may include liberal arts courses in Dance History, Dance Composition, or Introduction to World Dance. Opportunities exist for the candidate to contribute to the mainstage season, in which they collaborate effectively with colleagues and students, demonstrate an ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures, and have strong organizational and time management skills. Faculty participate in the life of the department by auditioning prospective students, assessment of student work for review, administration of the dance minor, academic advising, and serving on area faculty and other committees in the practice of shared governance. Non-tenure eligible positions have no requirements for scholarship, research, or publication.
Ithaca College is committed to building a diverse academic community and encourages members of underrepresented groups to apply. Experience that contributes to the diversity of the college is appreciated.
