Director of Grant Development

Description/Job Summary
Description/Job Summary A Director of Grant Development is responsible to:

  • Write, edit, and/or proofread proposals to prospective external funding agencies
  • Develop and prioritize projects and proposals
  • Meet and work with faculty/staff/administrators to develop grant projects that support the mission of the College
  • Generate grant proposals for unique projects and institutional funders
  • Write and/or supervise the writing of all grant proposals and other ancillary materials
  • Track grants from submission to award determination and maintain historical grants records
  • Establish and monitor annual external funding revenue goal
  • Seek out new and creative sources of grants funding
  • Compile up to date reports on external funding opportunities for faculty and staff
  • Conduct grants research to local appropriate foundations, corporations, and government grant sources
  • Secure corporate and grant support for programs
  • Understanding of institutional history and programs
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Assist with other fundraising projects, as requested
  • Cultivate relationships with organizations
  • Collect and analyze data for accountability and reporting
  • Manage online information systems for grant development and college success
  • Supervise staff to ensure standards and effectiveness are

Employees in this classification receive supervision from the Director of Development.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • 2- 3 years of recent experience in technical writing or grant proposal development
  • Strong knowledge-based and experience in project and grant management
