Description

Department Overview
University Communications and Marketing (UCM) oversees marketing and brand management, public relations, and editorial services for the university. In partnership with schools and programs, UCM develops marketing strategies and communications across channels.

The Marketing and Branding group develops strategies and marketing plans to support fundraising, enrollment, and reputation management.

Position Summary

The enrollment marketing specialist manages a portfolio of programs across multiple schools to develop marketing strategies, from lead generation to enrollment, to increase interest in, and applications to, select graduate and professional degree and certificate programs at Tufts.

Working with school communications teams, admissions directors, business development, and UCM colleagues, the enrollment marketing specialist will have a hands-on role in developing digital, print, and OOH campaigns and materials.

Essential Functions:
  • Develops a deep understanding of the programs in the portfolio, including audience targets, market share, and curriculum
  • Builds and sustains strong relationships with colleagues at each school in the portfolio, including deans, admissions directors, and communications directors
  • Manages external vendors and freelance creative teams
  • Collaborate with School Communications Directors and Admissions to develop annual marketing plans to support enrollment goals with clear metrics to track success
  • Leads the strategic brief process and works collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments to develop and deliver projects that are part of the marketing plan
  • Recommends shifts in strategy based on data and analytics; presents analytics to business partners on quarterly basis to help inform decision-making
  • Remains current on trends and best practices in marketing, with a focus on higher education and enrollment
  • Tracks project deadlines and budgets

Qualifications
Skills and Experience Required:
  • B.A./B.S. in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in online marketing with a record of achieving established targets.
  • Proficiency with direct response principles and practices, including marketing automation techniques.
  • Fluency with Google Analytics and similar tools.
  • Ability to translate analytics and metrics into actionable insights.
Preferred:
  • Prior experience in enrollment marketing/higher education.
  • Proven track record as a relationship builder and thought leader.
  • Demonstrated success in managing major strategic projects across print and digital channels.
  • Confident and engaging presenter who is comfortable in front of senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across a complex, matrixed institution.
  • Flexible thinking and nimble problem-solving.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills.
  • Experience with Hubspot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Ad-Words, Slate, Adobe Photoshop, and Tableau a plus.
