Basic Function

Part-time instructors needed in the Springfield, Virginia area to teach respiratory therapy courses at the Medical Education Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

Duties and Responsibilities

Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs. Instruction may be during the day, evening, or weekend. The adjunct faculty appointment contains no guarantee of continued employment.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate of Applied Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy & RRT and 2 years experience; or RRT and Bachelor’s of Science in related field; AARC membership; current CPR certification; professionally licensed

Preferred Qualifications

College level teaching experience and relevant professional RRT experience, ACLS, Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Adept knowledge of instructional technologies. Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. Ability to work with a diverse student population. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check is required
