Basic Function

Tutor NOVA students and provide administrative and clerical support for the Tutoring Center at the Loudoun campus. To provide individual or group tutoring to students in the Tutoring Center Subjects needed include the following;
Technology/Computer Science
Mathematics

Duties and Responsibilities

*Provide academic support and assistance, outside the classroom environment to students enrolled at NOVA
*Provide font-line administrative and clerical support
*Further the organizational mission and promote enhanced academics at NOVA

Minimum Qualifications

*Successful completion of IT/math coursework with a B- or higher
High school diploma or equivalent or a combination of training, experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications

*Proficiency with MS Office
*Previous experience working as a tutor
*Previous experience working in higher education

  • completion of IT coursework with A+ or GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

*Demonstrated knowledge of a specific academic area
*Strong oral and written communication skills *Ability to work with a diverse population of students
*Knowledge of various learning preferences
*Demonstrated outstanding customer service skills
