Description

The Provost is the chief academic officer of the university, overseeing eight schools as well as multiple cross-school programs. The Provost is responsible for setting and guiding institutional and budgetary priorities that advance the university’s academic mission. Together with deans and senior administrators, the Provost directs and supports the partnerships and collaborations of schools on four Massachusetts campuses and an international center in Talloires, France. This team of academic leaders ensures that the university’s educational and research programs are of the highest quality by working closely with faculty, staff, alumni, and students to fulfill the university’s goals and aspirations.

Under limited supervision, the Staff Assistant performs complex and diverse duties for the Provost Office. The Staff Assistant will provide administrative support including organizing files systems for office, coordinating meetings and travel arrangements, as well as producing, proofreading and editing complex reports, documents and spreadsheets. S/he will coordinate planning and logistics for meetings and special events including design of marketing and publicity materials, tracking responses, working with speakers on materials and set up. May also coordinate department projects or programs. Will be responsible for time off tracking and room scheduling.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:

  • Typically requires a high school diploma/GED and 2-4 years of administrative experience OR college degree with 1-3 years’ experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including word processing, editing, graphics, spreadsheet and database knowledge.
  • Bookkeeping or basic accounting knowledge.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
