SOURCING SPECIALIST, Sourcing & Procurement

The Sourcing Specialist facilitates the development, management, and execution of category plan initiatives for the universitys Facilities-related spend categories, which includes construction services, restoration services, MRO products/services, janitorial supplies, landscaping services, waste removal services, architectural/design services, elevator maintenance, and several others. The role is expected to deliver measurable, quantifiable cost and/or process efficiencies through building and managing internal business relationships by providing guidance and expertise on sourcing best practices, including supplier selection, industry insights, negotiation strategies and contracting. In addition to managing competitive bid events and negotiating business terms, the role is also expected to develop and manage a supplier performance program within the assigned Facilities-related spend categories. This position reports to a Category Manager.

Three to five years of experience in procurement, B.A./B.S. (in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or a related field), facilities-related commodity expertise (may include stockroom/MRP management), strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex projects. Technical skills should also include knowledge of Microsoft Office and e-Procurement systems (preferably SAP SRM, Ariba Sourcing/Contracts).
