The next Provost of Fort Lewis College will join the institution at a critical juncture as it lays the groundwork for the next generation of growth and achievement. With the arrival of a new President in summer 2018, the college is developing an inspiring vision that will honor the College’s mission and history while developing innovative solutions to ensure its future. This vision is anchored in serving our students through supportive student success structures, inclusive curricular and co-curricular experiences, and independent learning opportunities that cultivate skills necessary for future professional success as well as serving the region through increased outreach and curricular programing.
The college seeks a proven, successful leader with a deep understanding of and familiarity with higher education and a record of achievement in leading and managing change in complex organizations. A comprehensive view of how to serve a diverse population of students, contemporary best practices in academic and strategic planning and data-based decision making are also required. Candidates shall have a collaborative and transparent approach to leadership, an established track record of designing and executing high-level initiatives, an interest in Fort Lewis College’s people, the willingness and ability to embrace and embody the mission of the college, and the relationship building and communication skills to connect with Fort Lewis College’s constituents. A Ph.D. is required.
