I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

It is the academic mission of the George Washington University's School of Business (GWSB) to be a preeminent business school recognized for scholarly research, teaching excellence, innovative curricula and focus on the responsible management of organizations in the global environment. In support of this mission, the GWSB Office of Graduate Admissions is searching for an Associate Director, Admissions. This individual is a key contributor to providing high quality customer service to meet the recruitment and enrollment management needs of GWSB.

The Associate Director of Admissions will collaborate with planning and executing an annual marketing and admissions strategy as it pertains to graduate business enrollment.

The position reports to the Assistant Dean, GWSB Recruitment and Admissions, and will supervise Assistant Directors and/or Coordinators. With a passion for team-based work and clear dedication for fostering positive and collegial relationships, the Associate Director will commit to the highest standards of professionalism, including tact, discretion and a customer service-oriented approach to the job.

Key responsibilities include:
• Assist the Director and/or Assistant Dean in areas such as the planning and execution of effective recruitment strategies, recruitment events, implementation of email marketing and nurture campaigns.
• Supervise Assistant Directors and/or Coordinators, including hiring, training and managing performance.
• Present information on GWSB graduate programs in a variety of settings: group presentations, one-on-one meetings, recruiting fairs, in webinars, email.
• Screen assigned applications for admission to Masters programs in business, conduct interviews, and assist the Director with selection and scheduling of applicants.
• Ensure regular, consistent communications with applicants regarding questions and status of applications, including delivering admissions decisions by determined deadline.
• Research and resolve unusual or complex problems concerning admissions.
• Contribute to the management of the prospect and applicant database (currently Salesforce/TargetX).
• Interact and work with Program Directors, Career Services, International Admissions and other internal constituents to ensure superior customer service to prospects, applicants and enrolled students. Resolve issues identified by Assistant Directors.
• Conduct industry research and develop communication plans that fulfill strategic initiatives.
• Compile and report admission statistics to Director, highlighting variances from target or prior history.
• Coordinate with the scholarship administrator to record. scholarship awards accurately and timely. Ensure adherence to budget.
• Complete various other projects and duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
• Travel required: Domestic and International for GWSB-related events up to 25%.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 6 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 4 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

The ability to work evenings and weekends for recruitment events, as well as to travel domestically and internationally for up to two weeks at a time.

Experience in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.

Strong leadership and organizational skills as well as ability to handle competing demands.

Superior written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills.

Experience working with databases (Salesforce/TargetX preferred) and data analysis.

Impeccable judgment and discretion in dealing with issues pertaining to confidentiality.

Customer service oriented.
