Agriculture Extension Specialist Senior

Job description

The College of Agriculture, Food & Environment department of 4-H Youth Development seeks an Extension Senior Specialist. This position is focused on supporting the 4-H agent in-service program, family & consumer science/health content area, and grant writing. The incumbent will coordinate and provide leadership for on-going professional development for all 4-H agents in Kentucky by designing a series of in-services aligned with the changing needs of agents. The Specialist Sr. will provide leadership and support as an expert to other Specialists and Agents in the area of 4-H Family and Consumer Science and 4-H Health programming. Additionally, the Specialist Sr. will focus on securing grant dollars that will support State level programs or will be passed along to counties to implement FCS/Health programs in 4-H Family and Consumer Science and 4-H Health programming.

Monday - Friday, some evenings and weekends


Family & Consumer Science experience;Leadership skills; basic computer skills

A candidate for this position will have strong academic or professional experience in health, family, and consumer sciences. They will demonstrate a high degree of ability in organization and planning. A successful candidate for this position will also be able to demonstrate a successful history of grant application and acquisition.
