    The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of California, Irvine invites applications for a Research Specialist position beginning January 1, 2019. This position is for 25% time.

    The available position is in the area of design and fabrication of nanofluidic system. Experience and track records in the design, optimization and nanofluidic fabrication skills will be required for the development of simple and inexpensive system for detection and quantification of pathogens. The position requires innovative approach to develop field ready devices for pathogen monitoring for the developing world.

    The successful candidate should have a strong background in mechanical engineering with experience in lab on CD system. Background in rapid pathogen sensing technology is also desired. In addition to the qualifications, the position requires a Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related fields. The prospective specialist will work with Professors Sunny Jiang's group. More information available at:
