Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to directly aid an investigator within a large laboratory with studies to better understand viral pathogenesis and to evaluate antiviral therapeutics. Experiments to help define host factors that play either protective or pathogenic roles during virus infection will be performed in cells in culture, in knock out mice as well as in genetically diverse mouse reference populations. Therapeutics will be evaluated in various cell-culture based systems to measure antiviral efficacy. The ultimate goal of the project will be identifying antivirals and/or host factors to target with antiviral therapy for acute respiratory infections as well as chronic liver infections.

Education Requirements:

Qualification and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
