The College and the District:
San Mateo County Community College District is home to Cañada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College. All three of our colleges have been designated as Hispanic Serving Institutions. The District enrolls approximately 23,000 students, the majority of whom are from minoritized populations. Of the students within the District, 2.8% are African-American, 0.2% are American Indian, 16.4% are Asian, 10.4% are Filipino, 24.6% are Latinx, 1.6% are Pacific Islander, 24.0% are White, 17.8% Multi-Ethnic, and 2.2% are unknown.

Under general direction of the Community, Continuing & Corporate Education (CCCE) Executive Director, this position is responsible for serving as principal liaison for the Executive Director of CCCE in management of CCCE's business and programmatic operations. This position is responsible for corporate education business development, training design, and training implementation for domestic and international clients and providing project management support for new and ongoing programs and trainings. This position is responsible for representing the Executive Director in presentations, events, and meetings with businesses, organizations, community agencies and individuals. This position is responsible for supervising and providing accounting and financial support for all CCCE operations, including Standard Services Contracts and Agreements, Requisitions, Payments, Timesheets, Financial Statements, Billing, Deposits, Reconciliations, P&L Statements, and Personnel Forms; making recommendations for the purchase of materials, supplies and equipment; and coordinating with internal stakeholders such as Accounting, Contracts, Payroll, and Purchasing. This position is responsible for providing operational support for year-round Community Education offerings; providing operational support for summer youth camps and related programs; and performing other duties as assigned.
Public contact is extensive, involving CCCE staff, college staff and faculty, District staff, members of the community representing businesses, nonprofits, startups, and government agencies, external partners, and vendors. Consequences of errors in judgment could be costly in employee time, public relations and money. The CCCE Operations Manager supervises the work of paraprofessional, clerical and other staff, and student assistants as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. 1. Exchanges information with CCCE, College, and District department and staff, outside agencies, and vendors regarding budget, financial records and reports, research, account contributions and expenditures, general ledger, year-end closing, and account balances
2. Participates as an integral member of the CCCE team in representing CCCE, in service to constituents, in CCCE activities and events, in planning strategically, and more
3. Manages financial data using Banner, Excel or other similar software. Uses a database and a variety of computer software to enter, modify, research, retrieve and format data for financial, statistical and other documentation and reports; plans changes to data records, audits records for accuracy
4. Supervises CCCE operations, including Standard Services Contracts and Agreements, Requisitions, Payments, Timesheets, Financial Statements, Billing, Deposits, Reconciliations, P&L Statements, and Personnel Forms
5. Prepares monthly financial reports, including statement of financial position and income statement
6. Attends and prepares for meetings and provides reports on relevant business and financial items
7. Manages budgets and financial functions for various and general CCCE operations and events
8. Directs and supervises the work of clerical and other staff as it pertains to CCCE operations
9. Ensures proper organization and upkeep of program information in CCCE’s files, server, and database. Communicates program information to relevant parties as required
10. Composes correspondence and reports
11. Ensures timely payment of invoices to vendors
12. Performs other duties as assigned
• A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, marketing, or a closely related field• Successful work experience of increasing responsibility that has included financial analysis and reporting• Skill in the use of databases, charts, spreadsheets, and a variety of computer software to format, compose, and present accounting data, reports, correspondents, and other documents• Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff• Experience with training and leading the work of others and working in a collaborative team environment• Experience with research and compiling data for, formatting, preparing statistical, financial, accounting and other reports and records• Demonstrated skills in program development and operations, including working with clients to deliver quality programs within established deadlines• Demonstrated skills in effective written and oral communication, including public speaking and persuasive communication• Demonstrated skill in prioritizing workloads and working both independently as well as part of a customer service team• Possession of a valid California Driver’s license (or the ability to obtain one) and the ability to drive a motor vehicle to off-site locations
This classification requires dexterity of hands and fingers to type, mouse, and use phone; sitting for extended periods of time; ability to occasional lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move office and/or event supplies weighing 35 pounds or less; work at a computer, including repetitive use of computer keyboard and mouse; sitting and viewing a computer monitor for prolonged lengths of time; vision to read printed material and computer monitor; intermittent standing, walking, bending, and stooping; hearing and speaking to communicate and provide information to others; and ability to travel to a variety of locations in order to perform the essential functions.

1. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and auditing principles, practices, and procedures, particularly as they apply to nonprofit organizations
2. Knowledge of techniques commonly used in financial and statistical online and manual documentation and record keeping

Benefits include paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. The District pays all or a portion of monthly medical plan premiums (depending on the coverage) and pays all of the monthly dental and vision plan premiums for employees and eligible dependents.
