Job Description

  • This position is responsible for the financial support of the University through major gifts from private foundations and corporate donors within the community.

  • Administer the preparation and submission of foundation and corporate gift proposals for the Office of Development.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit corporate partners for support of the University through the Achieve Campaign.
  • Direct the identification and cultivation of prospective foundation and corporate funders.
  • Direct stewardship efforts to maintain positive relationships with existing foundation and corporate donors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President of Development.

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years successful experience in major gift fundraising.
  • Additional education and/or experience may be considered as a substitution for the minimum qualification requirements.
  • Demonstrated foundation and corporation grant writing experience and proficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain positive relationships with donors and prospective donors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including expertise in formal proposal and grant writing.
  • Possess the highest standards of ethics as accepted by the professional fundraising community.
  • Relate well to coworkers, peers and superiors of the University, as well as to donors and prospective donors.
  • Competency using donor management software programs and Office package.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in related field and foundation and corporate fundraising experience at a university.
  • Five to seven (5-7) years of experience and proficiency in securing major grants from foundations and corporations.
  • Raiser's Edge experience.
