DIRECTOR, TUTORING CENTER
Duties: The Director of the Tutoring Center reports to the Associate Vice Provost for University Life, and is responsible for all aspects of the tutoring services offered by The Tutoring Center. Overall duties include administering individual, group, and course-based tutorial services for all University students across the four undergraduate schools and the College of Liberal and Professional Studies; assisting faculty in the development, implementation, and evaluation of tutoring services affiliated with a diverse range of specific courses and unique departments; hiring, training, and supervising professional, graduate, and undergraduate students, as well as other part-time employees; planning, implementing, and evaluating innovative tutoring services provided, as well as developing strategic plans for future program initiatives and collaborations with other divisional or University partners; and managing several budgets which support the operational and support service expenditures for the Center.
Qualifications: Master's degree required, PhD a plus. At least 8 years experience in administration of an educational program in a higher education institution and 5 years experience in supervision. Must be able to manage large projects. Prior public speaking experience is a plus. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communications skills. Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office, database software, and web navigation are essential. Must be able to manage complex tasks and multiple projects simultaneously. Must have demonstrated experience and commitment to diversity and knowledge of issues inherent to diversity on college campuses.
