Posting Summary:
The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia invites distinguished applicants to apply for a non-tenure track, teaching faculty position in Public Policy. The selected applicant teaches courses and assumes some program responsibilities as part of the Batten School's Social Entrepreneurship at U.Va. ([email protected]) center. The appointment begins in August 2019. Rank is dependent upon qualifications.

[email protected] currently offers over a dozen courses, to over 500 students each academic year and serves over 350 Social Entrepreneurship Minors. For more information about the center please visit www.seatuva.org.

We seek candidates from a range of disciplines including political science, economics, entrepreneurship, law, business ethics, business administration, finance, or public administration. A terminal degree in one of these disciplines or a related field is required, as is teaching experience. The preferred candidate's research and/or professional experience focuses on Social Entrepreneurship broadly defined, including but not limited to work on:
-social enterprise,
-impact investing & innovative finance, or
-public policy related to social innovation (i.e. state-level B-Corp legislation, social impact bonds, tax policy related to social enterprise, and innovative hybrid business models).
Professional experience within the social enterprise community is strongly preferred. A distinguished record of professional experience, alongside an interest in contributing to the scholarly community at Batten and U.Va. through collaborations with research faculty is preferred. Finally, candidates with a research focus and a distinguished or developing publication record in scholarly, practitioner, and/or policy venues is preferred.
