The Claude Moore Health Sciences Library at the University of Virginia seeks a Senior Fiscal Technician to support the ongoing fiscal operations within the Library. The incumbent will perform a variety of duties requiring an understanding of organization operations, procedures, and personnel and will be the first point of contact for inquiries by library faculty and staff.
Maintaining a professional and formal demeanor following the Director's standard for the HS Library is essential, as is protecting confidentiality among the staff. The Senior Fiscal Tech will work with leadership to efficiently and effectively assist in the operations.
Primary responsibilities include:
- maintaining procurement records and other administrative records (i.e. fiscal administration), procurement processing purchasing requisitions, credit card transactions, and reimbursement requests;
- monitoring and ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures, supporting operations for the HS Library, communications, event coordination, and other administrative functions;
- screening procurement requests and placing order requests with vendors for routine supplies, equipment, or services.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and at least three years in a fiscal operations position. Experience with Oracle Purchasing, Chrome River, University Business Information (UBI) reporting, and Excel are required. Candidates are expected to have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential, as is the ability to interpret, apply, and communicate University policy and procedure.
A Bachelor's degree in a related field like Business Administration, Accounting, or English (with work experience) is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with faculty and staff at the University.
