A&M-Central Texas Campus Recreation strives to cultivate an environment where students feel connected to their communities and empowered to live a healthy lifestyle. Our programming and initiatives are designed to serve our diverse student body and we work to facilitate student success through recreation. Reporting to the Coordinator of Campus Recreation, the student employee position is an integral part of the department.



  • Supports the mission of TAMUCT, the Division of Student Affairs, and Campus Recreation
  • Act as office support by greeting and assisting individuals and answering phone calls acting as a representative of Campus Recreation in support of programs and services for all members of the A&M-Central Texas community.
  • Attend Campus Recreation staff meetings and events and support all Campus Recreation initiatives
  • Participates in staff training and development
  • Assist with the management of Campus Recreation social media
  • Have dedicated hours for tabling on campus on behalf of Campus Rec
  • Act as a representative of Campus Recreation and by extension the Division of Student Affairs at various recruiting events in the area
  • Assist the Coordinator with the implementation of procedures and preparation for the opening of campus recreation and fitness facilities and spaces
  • Assist with office projects and other duties as assigned

Heritage Hall (starting Spring 2018):
  • Scan the cards of members upon entry
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Answer phones and transfer calls
  • Be able to provide information on Campus Recreation programs, Group Ex, trips, classes, and rental center information
  • Tallying facility usage
  • Keep a neat, clean desk and making sure all forms are available and up-to-date
  • Check out equipment, balls, and classroom media properly
  • Assist in the cleaning of equipment
  • Keep all plate weights, dumbbells, and bars off the floor
  • Be available assist members at all times
  • Check towels and do laundry frequently
  • Perform the duties on the cleaning checklist
  • Monitor member dress code and behavior
  • Walk through fitness center and locker rooms to check that everything is clean and orderly
  • Make sure all equipment is working properly
  • Maintain a safe environment

Skills Required:
  • Proficiency in basic office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Detail oriented, strong customer service skills, leadership skills, efficient communication skills

Ideal candidates will have a strong desire to be a key component of the implementation of new program areas; including, but not limited to: Club Sports, Intramural Sports, Outdoor Adventure, and Fitness and Group Exercise classes. They will also have a desire to gain experience in marketing, promotions, programs, and events.


Must be a registered student in good standing with A&M-Central Texas

Must be able to work a minimum of 2 consecutive hours

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work independently on long term programming and initiatives

Physical Demands:

May sometimes be requested to carry, move, and store boxes heavier than 20 pounds.

Hourly Rate: $7.25/hour

Hours: Up to 19.5 hours/week
