Job description

This position requires a bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related work experience, OR associate degree and (3) years of related work experience, OR a high school diploma and five (5) years of work experience. Successful candidate will have experience with organizing, supervising and managing office operations. This position must have experience with ordering and maintaining office supplies, ensuring all office equipment and technology remains in working order, maintaining and monitoring office budgets, and managing course scheduling and instructor databases. Working knowledge of Ellucian Colleague, Outlook, Excel and Word is essential. Ideal candidate will have experience completing and submitting necessary contracts and support documentation for full-time and adjunct instructors, part-time positions and work-study students. Must have the ability to display self-direction, leadership, cooperation and initiative. Individual must be able to work effectively with administrative support staff, academic deans, department heads, coordinators and faculty across all campuses. Must have ability to train other employees and exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential. Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. The Administrative Assistant for the the Division of Business Technology is under the supervision of the Dean, this position is responsible for administrative support services for full-time faculty and staff and adjunct instructors in the Division of Business Technology, including: Interpreting policies and procedures; liaison with other divisions, colleges, students, faculty members, and the community; point of contact for student and community inquiries including academic appeals, complaints, and other academic issues for the division; provide direct support for dean and department heads in maintaining student records and personnel records that include monthly timesheets, travel requests and reimbursement, load and productivity reports, and confidential records and ensure that office and telephone coverage is provided in a consistent and effective manner to meet customer needs during all posted hours.
