Job Summary:

Under the general direction of FP&M's Payroll & Benefits Supervisor, the person in this position performs a wide variety of human resources activities in the areas of payroll, benefits, recruitment, classification, compensation, and other HR related functions.

The incumbent of this position must be able to interpret and communicate payroll and human resources policies to various audiences within FP&M. This position requires extensive communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with FP&M management and staff, UW and the general public. This position also requires excellent organizational and time management skills and well-developed abilities for tact, judgment, and confidentiality.

FP&M is a diverse, complex 24-hour operation which includes multiple and rotating shifts and employs over 1,200 academic and university employees, temporary employee's and students; this includes non-English speaking employees.
