Manager, REPORTER Support & Implementation

Primary Function of Organization Unit: Enterprise Application Services (EAS), a unit in the Office of Information Technology (OIT), is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, enhancement & maintenance of the University's enterprise business applications. This includes: development, operation, maintenance and support of all enterprise administrative systems (Advancement, Business Intelligence, Financials, HR, Identity Management, Imaging, Non-Credit Education, Portal, Research Administration and Student Information Systems, etc.), configuration management, database administration, maintenance, enhancements, and application integration.
Essential Job Duties: REPORTER is NC State's solution for tracking and managing all non-credit registrations and activities, as well as all student/faculty/staff required compliance training. REPORTER is built on the Mendix, low-code platform. The Manager will provide functional and managerial leadership for the REPORTER support team, Required Training and Outreach customers. The Manager is responsible for providing application support services for both the Required Training and Outreach customers, as well as working with those customers to develop and maintain the application roadmap and support requirements. The Manager will lead a team of business analysts and will also work very closely with other EAS managers to coordinate the deployments, upgrades and roadmap for REPORTER. The Manager will lead a team of business analysts performing: business processes analysis; change request evaluation; functional and technical specification development; system design, configuration & setup, unit and system test development and execution; production support and system maintenance. The Manager partners with management in central office and IT units to design and maintain functionality for REPORTER and serves as the primary point of contact for these units.
Minimum Education/Experience: Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.
Department Required Skills: Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle, including but not limited to customer requirements gathering, application analysis, development, testing, documentation, approval and post migration validation. Strong analytical/problem solving, judgment, leadership, communication, diplomacy, collaboration, and organization skills. Ability to learn new skills quickly and independently. Ability to interact positively and communicate appropriately with team members, campus representatives, and customers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Experience with registration and activity tracking is desired. Experience managing business analysts involved in supporting enterprise software preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.), process flow charting tools (Visio, Lucid Charts, etc.) and project management/administration (SmartSheet, MS Project, etc.) strongly desired. Experience with REPORTER is a plus. Experience with Mendix is a plus.
