Job Details
Duties: The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health Assistant Director will manage a growing research center and portfolio of projects within the Mixed Methods Research Lab (MMRL). The incumbent will lead the charge in overall development of the MMRL. This will include increasing the capacity of the MMRL and enhancing the existing cost model. Primary responsibilities will include direct fiscal management of day-to-day financial activities and billing. S/he will lead efforts to establish the MMRL as a school-wide resource by expanding outreach and marketing strategies, addressing administrative barriers, and developing and maintaining multi-departmental and multi-institutional professional relations. This will also include planning for future funding and fiscal year projections of the Lab. The Assistant Director will be responsible for implementation of internal controls to provide assurance of effective and appropriate resource use, accurate financial information, and adherence to contractual obligations and agreements, policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements. S/he will provide managerial oversight of all research staff and project managers. This position will be responsible for managing the needs of staff capacity to match employee FTE's with work load and establishing professional development opportunities to retain/enhance staff. This position will also work with Project Managers and HR partners to participate in the selection of new hires, and oversee performance management. The ideal candidate will possess strong business and financial acumen while directing the growth of an innovative service center.
Qualifications: The minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of experience in managing a health services research center or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree in public health or a related field preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong business and financial acumen while directing the growth of an innovative service center.
Excellent organizational, verbal, written and interpersonal skills; Familiarity with the use of word processing, spreadsheets, database and web-based applications.
