The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the GW Milken Institute School of Public Health (GW SPH) is recruiting for a dynamic and innovative full-time tenure track or tenured faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Epidemiology. The successful candidate will develop a program of sponsored research as well as teach and mentor graduate students in epidemiology. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics seeks faculty members to establish externally funded, internationally recognized, and interdisciplinary research programs in areas such as non-communicable disease epidemiology, e.g. cardiovascular, cancer, Alzheimer's/dementia, diabetes, aging and/or reproductive health, and seeks methodologists with expertise in social, behavioral and/or spatial epidemiology.

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics oversees the MPH, MS and PhD programs in epidemiology, MPH program in biostatistics, and the MS program in public health microbiology and emerging infectious diseases, and collaborates with the Department of Statistics for the MS and PhD programs in biostatistics.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will devote approximately 50% effort to obtaining, implementing and overseeing funded research, and 50% to teaching, mentoring, and educational administration.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have a PhD or ScD in epidemiology or a related field, or an MD with an MPH in epidemiology; a demonstrated record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals, experience proposing and/or implementing funded research, and experience teaching graduate level courses in epidemiologic methods and/or another area of expertise.
