Worcester Polytechnic Institute - WPI

Post-Doctoral Fellow working on phase field modeling, electrochemistry, corrosion science, and mechanical deformation modeling including fatigue.

Central role in a 3-year modeling study on corrosion and mechanical failure in welds between magnesium and aluminum sheet. Implement model of electrochemical degradation in weld microstructures, and crystal plasticity model of weld degradation, including significant development and debugging of existing open source codes. Run simulations on large clusters of computers with thousands of cores in CPU/GPU hybrid architecture. Work closely with auto industry engineers and researchers performing corrosion and mechanical testing, welding, and advanced characterization.
