Assistant Professor of Math/Science Education, Elementary Education

Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time

General Summary of Responsibilities: The Department of Elementary Education seeks applicants for a tenure track faculty position. The position will be responsible for teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate level; supervising teacher candidates in Elementary Education, primarily in the areas of math and science; mentoring Elementary Education candidates; conducting a research agenda that includes publications, presentations, and grant writing; and providing service to the University, College, Department, Profession, and public schools in the region. Required Qualifications: A doctorate from an accredited institution in early childhood education, elementary education, math education, or science education, or other closely related field with at least a master's degree in early childhood or elementary education by appointment date; at least three years of successful full-time college level teaching experience in early childhood or elementary education; a record of recent scholarship and service activities; at least three years of P-12 public school experience teaching math and/or science in early childhood or elementary education; knowledge of personalized learning approaches and innovative trends in post-secondary teaching and learning; experience with online programs; experience using data-based decision making strategies; evidence of the creative use of technology in the curriculum; and knowledge of P-5 science and mathematics methods and current elementary STEM initiatives. Candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
