Duties: The Computational Memory Lab at the University of Pennsylvania ( is hiring an ambitious software developer to work with a team of neuroscientists and engineers to develop brain stimulation devices to boost human cognitive abilities. This position will be focused on the development of memory experiments and spatial navigation games for evaluation human memory in research studies, and on integrating these games with a cutting-edge brain recording and stimulation platform. The selected applicant will additionally maintain and update the software engine for a real-time brain stimulator and the pre- and post-processing software tools and pipelines that facilitate neural data processing and generation of research reports. Other responsibilities include: general lab systems administration, including website, file server and computer cluster. Experience with Python, Unity, C#, and *nix systems is required.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications
-A Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent. Recent graduates who have completed a complex software project as part of their academic curriculum are strongly encouraged to apply as well.
-Python, Unity, and C# experience required.
-Ability to work proficiently in Windows, Mac, or *nix development environments (including shell-scripting ability and strong familiarity with UNIX terminal).
-Background in collaborative software development, including version control.
-Familiarity with research environment.
Preferred qualifications
-Experience with scientific / statistical computing libraries and languages (SciPy, NumPy, pandas, xarray, MATLAB, R, etc.).
-Experience with neural time series analysis.
-Good communication, inter-personal, and leadership skills.
