Degree and Area of Specialization:

Ph.D. required, preferably in biomedical sciences or a related field.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

The successful candidate is required to have experience tissue dissection, processing and sectioning, IF and ISH, microscopy, FACS and analyses, basic molecular biology skills and assisting in managing mouse genetic colonies.

Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) are critical.

Position Summary:

The Department of Cell and Regenerative Biology is seeking a staff scientist and laboratory manager to serve in a mouse developmental genetics laboratory. This position will require a motivated and highly independent researcher who is interested in continued immersion in literature, discussion of scientific topics related to stem cell, developmental and regenerative biology and developing new skills related to work in this field. This will include identifying research problems and designing research methodologies; assisting in the writing of grants and manuscripts for peer reviewed journals; and additional duties as requested by the principal investigator.
