Bookstore Associate (PT)

Job description




Basic functions of the part time Bookstore Clerk include receiving, pricing, displaying merchandise, typing, filing, answering the phone, and assisting the manager and assistant manager with the overall operation of the college Bookstore. The part time Bookstore Associate reports to the Bookstore Manager.

Receive, price, and display merchandise.

Prepare returns for shipping.

Operate cash register in sales, refunds, and buy backs of merchandise.

Perform data entry and filing duties as needed.

Provide prompt and courteous customer service.

Assist with textbook, supplies, inventory control, transfers, and pick up and/or delivery of books and materials.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required.

One year work related experience to include:
1. Computer data entry
2. Calculator and cash register operation.
3. Sales and customer contact work.
4. Cash receipts and record keeping.
5. Store keeping/display

Good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to prioritize and work independently.

Ability to travel between Sugar Grove and Aurora Campus.

Physical ability to do heavy lifting.

Flexibility to work at either Sugar Grove or Aurora Downtown Campus Stores, and evening hours when
needed.
