Advanced Practice Provider II/UKHC

Job description



The Infectious Diseases division within the Department of Internal Medicine seeks a motivated and skilled advanced practice provider (APP) to join a new UK HealthCare inpatient addiction medicine consult team.

This position will provide care to hospitalized patients with substance use disorders, and is a valued member of a multi-disciplinary team.

The APP team member will round on inpatient addiction medicine consults, provide pharmacotherapy for treatment of opioid use disorder (including buprenorphine), and assist with coordinating follow up care. The ideal candidate will have the DEA x-waiver or have the eligibility to apply for the x-waiver, experience in an inpatient setting, and willing to participate in continuing education and training in evidence-based treatment of substance use disorders.

Required Related Experience

No experience required.



Required License/ Registration/Certification

For Nurse Practitioner applicants, active Kentucky Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.

For Physician Assistant applicants, current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification and active Kentucky Physician Assistant (PA) license.

Employment is contingent upon the University's verification of credentials as required by state law and University policies.



Physical Requirements

On occasion, may lift objects up to 50 lbs.



Shift

Monday-Friday plus call on evenings and weekends when applicable.
