Parking Operations and Campus Access Management are seeking qualified applicants on a temporary basis for entry level Vehicle/Equipment Operator positions that may come available.

Duties include:

  • Responsibility of operating a bus on assigned route and schedule to provide safe and efficient transportation of students, faculty, and staff. Work involves:*
  • Performing pre- and post-trip inspections of the bus and reporting mechanical defects or failures to the Transportation Manager
  • Obeying all traffic laws and University regulations while operating the bus
  • Creating a customer services oriented environment for users
  • Employee will be responsible for completing all required reports and securing the vehicle before leaving.

When the Department temporarily needs a Vehicle/Equipment Operator, they will consider applicants that have applied to this temp pool.

Required Licensure

  • Valid North Carolina A, B, or C, Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement

Alternate Option

If no applicants apply who meet the required competency level and training & experience requirements, than management may consider other applicants. Salary would be determined based on competencies, equity, budget and market considerations.
