Job Description:

SUMMARY

Manages and administers core activities related to the recruitment, orientation, and on-boarding of adjunct faculty. Supervises staff and oversees the operation of the department during evening and weekend hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Facilitates the hiring process for adjunct by initiating staffing requests, recommending recruitment strategies, prescreening resumes, and sourcing applicants to ensure a pipeline of talent
  • Partners with Human Resources regarding adjunct recruitment activities including but not limited to participation at job fairs and networking events
  • Manages the on-boarding process and leads the coordination of orientation for adjunct faculty
  • Assists with the design, coordination, and implementation of adjunct programs and initiatives
  • Process adjunct faculty credential files
  • Assists with processing adjunct faculty substitute and all supplemental pays
  • Monitors adjunct faculty workloads
  • Generates and disseminates proffers and assist with pay administration
  • Tracks, audits, and prepares adjunct faculty evaluation reports to ensure compliance with faculty evaluation procedure
  • Monitors department budgets and oversees the preparation of related documents
  • Provides administrative support to the department as needed
  • Coordinates and disseminates communication to adjunct faculty (i.e. professional development opportunities, monthly newsletter, new programs and processes)
  • Facilitates the resolution of issues/concerns/complaints
  • Advises, consults, and trains faculty coordinators and program managers regarding the on-line employment system
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Bachelor's degree
    • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated higher education experience
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others
  • Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Possess excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively
  • Ability to research and analyze issues and develop solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • Works accurately with great attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships

  • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or equivalent programs)

  • Ability to collaborate, persuade and gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
