The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking candidates for a faculty position at the level of Associate Professor or Professor of Clinical Surgery in the Department of Surgery to serve as a clinician/educator with a special emphasis on breast malignancies.

Job responsibilities will include participation in clinical, research and educational activities as it relates to Surgical Oncology with a special emphasis on breast malignancies. He or She will help develop and implement the Division's strategic plan, in collaboration with the Chief of the Division, which sets forth clinical, financial, educational and research divisional objectives to support and complement the mission statement of the Department, the UMSM, UMMG and the affiliated Hospitals. The candidate will be expected to conduct reliable and independent laboratory research with a focus on breast malignancies, participate in all divisional activities, perform patient care activities for surgical oncology patients, develop an independent practice and become involved in teaching medical students and residents.
Approximately 40 hr/wk, 8:00 am to 5:00pm, M-F.

The applicant must have an MD or MD/PhD degree, have participated in a SSO certified fellowship, must be board certified in Surgery and maintain a valid Florida Medical License. In addition, the candidate must show evidence of high-impact publications, demonstrate the ability to lead innovative research projects to successful conclusions and secure and sustain extramural funding for a program of research including NIH RO1s, Program Projects, Center Grants, Cooperative Agreements and/or training grants.
